Sand VballThe Pre-Conference Sand Volleyball Course is focused on training indoor coaches on the essentials to get started in sand volleyball. This day-long course will fulfill the "on the sand" education requirement of a BCAP Certification. Coaches interested in continuing on to a full certification can do so by completing the necessary courses and assessments outlined by USA Volleyball.


Attending coaches will receive a Certificate of Completionfrom USA Volleyball stating that they have attended and completed this portion of the BCAP program. Attendees will also receive instructions on how to complete the remaining necessary requirements of a full BCAP Certification.


The Pre-Conference Sand Volleyball Course can be purchase at an additional $125 above the AVCA Spring Conference registration fee. Transportation to and from the Doubletree Hotel Anaheim/Orange County to Long Beach will be provided by the AVCA to those in need.

Angela Rock
, head women's coach, Southwestern College


Angela Rock brings twenty years of experience as a player, coach and clinician to Southwestern College that reflect her passion and dedication to the sport of volleyball.

Internationally Coach Rock played on the United States National Team for five years, winning Team USA ‘s prestigious Most Valuable Player in 1985. She also participated in the 1986 Goodwill Games and World Championships, the 1987 Pan American Games, and most notably, the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea where the Americans placed seventh. Rock also participated in the 1992 Almeria Spain Olympic Beach Volleyball games where she earned a Silver Medal.

In the summer of 2010, Coach Rock will be working with USA volleyball coaching a high performance sand volleyball camp.  Rock has also coached two top four professional teams on the AVP tour.

 

Jon Aharoni

 

Jon Aharoni, Administrative Assistant, Beach Programs, USA Volleyball

 

Jon Aharoni is the coordinator of beach coaching and development for USA Volleyball and the assistant coach for the USA Jr. Beach Volleyball program. Jon has also been a coach and coordinator of the high performance beach camps for many years. His teams have competed is Argentina, Israel, Mexico, Finland, Turkey, and England this year alone. He was head coach and partner in Sinjin Smith and Randy Stoklos's beach camps, and is the chairman and head coach for beach volleyball for the Maccabiah athletes. As a child he learned the game at the Outrigger Canoe Club and has played all over the world.
