DIII No. 1 Nazareth Rebounds With Sweep of Johnson & Wales

Poughkeepsie, N.Y. - Nazareth rebounded against Johnson and Wales in convincing fashion as the Golden Flyers defeated the Wildcats 30-19, 30-13, 30-16 at the Vassar Invitational following losses to Philadelphia Biblical and sixth-ranked Vassar Friday. Senior Adam DiCicco and junior Joe Petzoldt recorded 13 and 10 kills respectively for Nazareth.

The Golden Flyers halted their brief two-match losing streak and improved to 15-4 overall with the dominating victory.

Junior Ryan Johnsen and freshman Hans Schroeder each added eight kills for Nazareth. Junior Chris DeHority recorded a team-high 10 digs followed by DiCicco with eight digs and Petzoldt with seven digs. Junior Frank Leahy tallied 23 assists while sophomore Kevin Kirchhoff added 15 assists. Freshman Brian Bunch recorded a team-high three service aces while Petzoldt contributed two aces.
