DIII No. 15 Eastern Mennonite Falls to NAIA Foe King
Bristol, Tenn. - King College kept the Eastern Mennonite University men's volleyball team from completing the weekend sweep as the Royals were defeated in four games by the Tornado's Saturday afternoon in Bristol, Tenn.
Game scores were 28-30, 30-22, 30-28, and 30-28.
EMU, which defeated NCAA Division II Lees-McRae on Friday for the second time in two weeks, was unable to get past the Tornado's in the second of three matches this season.
The Royals competed with senior right-side Calen Hochstetler (Orange Co., Calif./Palomar C.C.) serving as the setter as he registered a career high 40 assists along with 11 digs. Sophomore middle Justin Reesor (Stouffville, Ontario/Stouffville District) had a team high 15 kills in the loss.
Ethan Fry (Guatemala City, Guatemala/Christian Academy of Guatemala) had 13 kills and 10 digs while sophomore libero Colten New (Richmond, Va./James River) had another 13 digs.
The Royals will welcome in the Chargers of Lancaster Bible College on Wednesday, February 27, for a 7 p.m., match in Yoder Arena.
