DIII No. 8 Stevens Falls to DI Foe Princeton

Princeton, N.J. - The eighth-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology men's volleyball team fell to the Tigers of Princeton University Friday night in Princeton, N.J. With the loss, the Ducks fall to 7-7 on the year as they dropped in three by the scores of 25-30, 14-30, 27-30.

Junior middle hitter Doug Reger posted nine kills, a pair of blocks and a service ace in the defeat. Junior outside hitter Joe Trinsey registered seven kills and three blocks, while junior middle hitter Andrew Cranford notched seven kills, three blocks and an ace.

Freshmen setters Brandt Grobeis and Aaron Ostrovsky combined for 36 assists. Grobeis totaled 24 assists as Ostrovsky dished for 12. The Ducks were led defensively by junior libero Michael Ozols, who recorded seven digs.

The Tigers were led by senior outside hitter Peter Eichler (Pacific Palisades, Calif.), who posted 20 kills and seven aces. Junior setter Brandon Denham (Camarillo, Calif.) totaled 46 assists in the victory.

Stevens will return to conference play as it competes in a tri-match against Bard College and the College of Mount Saint Vincent tomorrow in Riverdale, N.Y. The Ducks will take on Bard at 11 a.m., then play Mount Saint Vincent later at 3 p.m.
