New Paltz, N.Y. - The eighth-ranked Stevens Institute of Technology men's volleyball team broke its four match losing streak after taking down SUNY New Paltz Wednesday night in New Paltz, N.Y. Junior middle hitter Andrew Cranford posted 16 kills as he lead the Ducks past the Hawks by the scores of 27-30, 30-20, 30-22. 30-24.

Sophomore outside hitter Jonathan Landis notched 16 kills and one block, while junior outside hitter Joe Trinsey totaled 15 kills, two blocks and 14 digs. Cranford had a team-high five blocks and added a service ace. Freshman setter Brandt Grobeis dished for 52 assists, while junior outside hitter Tomas Bochicchio (Saint James, N.Y.) registered 12 digs.

The Hawks (5-14) were led by junior outside hitter Ryan Huberty (Liverpool, N.Y.), who totaled 11 kills and a pair of kills. Sophomore setters Michael Fink (Rochester, N.Y.) and Stephen Pendleton (Oneida, N.Y.) had solid performance for New Paltz. Fink recorded 10 kills as Pendleton totaled 40 assists. Defensively for the Hawks, senior libero Pedro Medina (Brentwood, N.Y.) posted 18 digs.

The Ducks will head to Princeton, N.J. on Friday to take on Division I foe Princeton University slotted for a 7 p.m. start.
