DIII No. 5 Stevens Finishes Tough Week with Third Consecutive Five-Game Loss

Harrisonburg, Va. - The Stevens Institute of Technology men's volleyball team fell to Lees McRae College Saturday afternoon in its third consecutive five-game loss (30-27, 30-28, 28-30, 30-28, 15-12) as the Ducks are now .500 with a 6-6 record. Junior outside hitter John Dennan led the Ducks with 15 kills and two blocks.

Junior outside hitter Tomas Bochicchio posted 13 kills, one service ace and one block. Sophomore outside hitter Jonathan Landis finished with 11 kills and a pair of blocks.

Freshmen setters Brandt Grobeis and Aaron Ostrovsky combined for 53 assists as Grobeis tallied 42 and Ostrovsky dished for 11. Junior libero Michael Ozols led the Ducks defensively as he recorded a season-high 21 digs.

The Bobcats (1-6) were led by freshman outside hitter Colin Kelley (Orlando, Fla.), who registered 28 kills, two aces and a pair of blocks. Freshman outside hitter Shane Holderby (Virginia Beach, Va.) notched 20 kills and one block, while freshman setter Juan Ramirez (Miami Fla.) led in assists and digs, with 60 and 21, respectively.

The Ducks return to action Tuesday when they travel to Newark, N.J. to take on the Highlanders of New Jersey Institute of Technology slotted for a 7 p.m. start.
