DIII No. 12 Ramapo Earns Win Over Polytechnic

Mahwah, NJ - The Roadrunners posted a 3-0 (30-22, 30-17, 30-21) victory over the Fighting Blue Jays of Polytechnic University today to improve to 7-1 overall, and 2-0 in the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association Metro Division.

Ramapo was led by rookie Matt Whitford (Lyndhurst, NJ) who recorded seven kills while senior opposite Brendan Whitford (Lyndhurst, NJ) added six kills of his own. Yanik Coppedge (Montclair, NJ) contributed six kills while junior and sophomore setters, Jairo Sierra (Fair Lawn, NJ) and Matt Scott (Edison, NJ) respectively, combined for 34 assists. Scott led the defense with four digs and Coppedge led the team with four total blocks.

The team hit .272 in the win tallying 39 kills with 17 errors on 81 attempts.

The Roadrunners return to action on Monday, February 4th when they travel to Mt. St. Vincent for a 7:00 PM start.
