LAKELAND, Fla. - The eighth-ranked Moccasins avenged their only Sunshine State Conference loss so far this season with a three-set win over Eckerd, 25-23, 28-26, 25-19, at Jenkins Field House Wednesday night.  Eckerd had won in four sets when the two teams met in St. Petersburg on Sept. 30.  The win was the ninth straight for the Moccasins, raising their record to 21-4, 8-1 in the SSC.  Eckerd fell to 14-10, 4-6 in the SSC.

Julia Borecka led the Mocs with 13 kills and hit .565 for the match.  She was the only Moccasin in double figures in kills, but Danielle Durham added nine and Danielle Higginbotham collected seven.  Courtney Johnson led the defensive effort with 15 digs.

First place in the SSC will be on the line when the Moccasins play at No. 6 Tampa Friday at 7 p.m.  The two teams currently are tied for the SSC lead with 8-1 league records.  Saturday the Moccasins play a non-conference home match against Dowling (N.Y.) at 7 p.m. at Jenkins Field House.
