No. 9 Emporia State Wins On the Road Against No. 10 Truman

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. - The No. 9 ESU volleyball team earned their first victory in Pershing Arena in their last three tries with a 3-2 victory over No. 10 Truman. The Hornets outhit the Bulldogs .217 to .199 in the 26-24, 19-25, 25-22, 22-25 and 15-13.
 
All-American Arica Shepard led the way for ESU with 21 kills and 23 digs for double-double. She was joined in double-double figures by Megan Koster who had 17 kills and 15 digs.

Hannah Carter led the team in hitting going for .419 with 15 kills on the evening while Brittney Miller added 11 kills for the Hornets.

Brianna Boner finished with five kills but led the team with eight blocks in the match. Ting Liu had 62 assists for the Hornets. Joining Shepard and Koster in double figure digs were Amy Byfield with 23 and Jenna Snook with 12.
 
The Hornets will return home to face Missouri Western on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. from W. L. White Auditorium.
