Southeastern Oklahoma No Match For No. 6 West Texas A&M

CANYON, Texas - The Lady Buffs completed their tenth week of regular season play and are still on top in the Lone Star Conference after defeating Southeastern Oklahoma in three sets with scores of 25-19, 25-18, and 25-23. WT is now 27-4 overall, and undefeated in the LSC at 11-0 while Southeastern is 19-12 overall, and 5-6 in LSC action.

Laura Prinsen (junior, rightside hitter, Spring, Texas) recorded a double-double, leading the team in kills with 15 in 26 attempts for a hitting percentage of .500 and tallying 12 digs. Prinsen also recorded three block assists. Melissa Harper (junior, middle blocker, Peoria, Ariz.) also contributed double digit kills with ten and put up two block assists. Natalie Johnson (junior, outside hitter, Cortez, Colo.) put down nine kills and two block assists to add to the team total of six blocks. Katie Rickwartz (junior, setter, Canyon, Texas) tallied 39 assists and led the team to a hitting percentage of .260. She also contributed one service ace.

The Lady Buffs will wrap up regular season play next week in Canyon, Texas, beginning with a rematch against Lubbock Christian on Tuesday, Nov. 4 at 7:00 p.m. in The Box. WT will also face their last two LSC opponents, Texas A&M-Kingsville on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 7:00 p.m. and Tarleton on Saturday, Nov. 8 at 2:00 p.m., both in Canyon, Texas.
