ST. PAUL, Minn. - Whitney Meierotto marked her 14th double double of the season to propel the Golden Bears to a swift 3-0 win over St. Cloud State (7-21, 5-15 NSIC) on Saturday evening (25-12, 25-13, 25-14).  The win puts #1-ranked Concordia's season record at 31-1 and gives the team their fourth undefeated NSIC season in five years (20-0).

Meierotto put down 15 kills in 23 attempts and committed only two errors in the hour long match with the Huskies.  She also pulled in 14 digs and had four block assists on the night.  Maria Steinhagen topped the Golden Bear blocking game with five assists.  She also had eight kills.

Concordia outplayed the Huskies from the onset, putting down 49 kills to SCSU's 24 and marking 60 digs to their opponent's 37.

St. Cloud State had major troubles passing the ball off of the serve, forcing the offense to play out of system and giving Concordia five aces throughout the match.  The Huskies made 17 hitting errors and finished with a .063 attack percentage.

The Golden Bears hit .370 on the night, receiving 15 kills from Meierotto and 11 from Emily Palkert.  Palkert also had four blocks, one solo and three assisted.  Mary Slinger led the team with 17 digs.  Maggie McNamara had assists on 46 of the team's 49 kills.

Concordia University now looks ahead to postseason play at the Central Region Tournament.  With a #1 seed in the last regional poll, the Golden Bears are the strong favorite to top the eight teams in the standings.  The selection show takes place Sunday evening and can be viewed at www.ncaa.com starting at 7:00 pm.  The site of the tournament will also be announced.
