Changes to AVCA Board of Directors
LEXINGTON, Ky. - The American Volleyball Coaches Association has made changes to its Board of Directors, effective immediately, President Beth Launiere announced today.
Launiere has appointed Kelly Sheffield, head women's volleyball coach at University of Dayton, to the position of Awards Representative for a three-year term. He replaces Jill Hirschinger, head women's volleyball coach at University of New Hampshire, who rotated off that position December 31.
Launiere has also re-appointed to the Board, Dr. Cecile Reynaud and T.J. Meagher, each for a three-year term. Reynaud, a member of the faculty at Florida State University, is the Education & Publications Representative. Meagher, an assistant athletics director at University of Houston, is the Legislative Representative.
With the departure of Trish Knight, the Two-Year College Representative, from Missouri State University-West Plains to NCAA Division I institution Texas Tech University, Launiere has announced the appointment of David Rehr, head women's volleyball coach at Blinn College, to the Board. Rehr will serve the remainder of Knight's three-year term, which expires December 31, 2010, and will then be eligible for re-election if he chooses to run.
