LEXINGTON, Ky. - The Missouri High School Volleyball Coaches Association (MHSVCA) has joined the American Volleyball Coaches Association's Affiliate Partner Program the AVCA announced.  The AVCA Affiliate Partner Program was established in 2007 to build relationships between the association and high school volleyball coaches across the country.

As an AVCA affiliate partner, MHSVCA member coaches who join the AVCA will receive the educational tools, product/member discounts, publications and other benefits of being an AVCA member.

"Partnership is definitely a win-win situation for the coaches here in Missouri," said MHSVCA President Ken Corum.  "We benefit from the resources of the AVCA.  This is tremendously exciting for our coaches to further the sport here in Missouri."

The AVCA, in turn, continues to grow its membership at the grassroots level, furthering its effort to unify the sport and its most influential individuals, the coaches. On August 1, the MHSVCA will be running its annual clinic with Kathy DeBoer, AVCA Executive Director as the keynote speaker.

"We are thrilled to add Missouri to our growing group of affiliate partnerships and I'm eager to join them for their first state-wide clinic this August," said DeBoer. Ann Kordes, head coach at Saint Louis University and Tom Keating, formerly of Dubuque-Wahlert High School in Dubuque, Iowa, will be presenting at the clinic as well.  The clinic will be held at Lewis and Clark Middle School in Jefferson City, Mo., beginning at 8 a.m.

"By connecting with the AVCA, Missouri volleyball coaches can tap into numerous national awards and recognition programs for their players like the Team Academic Award, the MaxPreps Player of the Week, the Under Armour High School All-America program, and the AVCA National High School Coach of the Year award," DeBoer said.  "Besides the access to awards, Missouri volleyball coaches who join the AVCA will receive weekly educational materials, Coaching Volleyball magazine, discounts on products and services, and preferred rates to the AVCA Annual Convention and Spring Conference, all for under $5 a month."

Missouri is the eighth state in the AVCA Affiliate Partner Program, joining Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
