Bruna Rocha, a junior outside hitter for Saint Leo University, has been named the Sports Imports/ AVCA Division II National Player of the Week. She earned the award after helping the Lions to two huge road wins over fellow nationally-ranked Sunshine State Conference (SSC) opponents. Rocha began the week by notching a double-double in a 3-1 victory over then-No. 25 Eckerd. She totaled 17 kills on .469 hitting during the match and added 11 digs, four blocks and three aces. Rocha saved her best performance for last, hitting a scorching .538 with 21 kills, nine digs and two blocks in a whitewashing of then-No. 4 Tampa. For the week, Rocha hit at an impressive .507 clip, while averaging 5.43 kills and 2.86 digs per set. This marks only the second time an athlete from Saint Leo has received Sports Imports/AVCA Division II National Player of the Week accolades, with the last coming in September 2008.  The Lions are coached by Sam Cibrone.
