 Hana Cutura, a senior outside hitter for then-No. 15 University of California, has been named the Sports Imports/ AVCA Division I National Player of the Week after propelling the Golden Bears to victories over two Pac-10 foes. Cutura started the week with a bang, notching her sixth double-double of the season in Cal's 3-1 win over then-No. 16 Arizona. The two-time AVCA All-American smashed a career-high 31 kills with only one error (.638) and collected 11 digs, one block and one assist during the match. She followed with another impressive outing, hitting .562 with 21 kills, seven digs, three blocks and an assist in a sweep of Arizona State. Cutura, who currently leads the Pac-10 in kills and points, averaged 7.43 kills, 2.57 digs and 7.79 points per set, while hitting a sizzling .608. The award marks the fourth time an athlete from California has received Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week honors, with Carli Lloyd picking up the last award Oct. 21, 2008. The Golden Bears are coached by Rich Feller.
