Nov. 17 - Victoria Henson, a junior outside hitter for then-No. 8 Iowa State, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I Player of the Week after propelling the Cyclones to two Big 12 sweeps. Henson opened up the week with a double-double against Texas A&M. She slammed 15 kills on .250 hitting, while also tallying 12 digs, five blocks and a service ace in the victory. She followed that performance with another 15-kill, 12-dig outing, hitting .355 in a win over Kansas State. Hanson also contributed three blocks in the match. For the week, Hansen averaged a league-best 5.92 points, 5.00 kills, 4.00 digs and 1.33 blocks per set. This is the second time an athlete from Iowa State has earned Sports Imports/AVCA Division I Player of the Week honors, with Erin Boeve last taking home the award on Oct. 2, 2006. The Cyclones are coached by Christy Johnson.
