Team West Prevails in Under Armour HS AA Match

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (December 16, 2011) - Team West knocked off Team East in three sets, tallying scores of 17-25, 25-19, 25-22 to win the 2011 Under Armour All-America Volleyball Match held Friday night at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The event was held in conjunction with the 2011 AVCA Annual Convention.


Jordan Burgess was named as the Most Undeniable Player for Team East, making her presence known from the outside hitter position and causing the opponent fits all evening. Burgess will be taking her skills to Stanford University in the fall.


For Team West, Inky Ajanaku was tabbed as the Most Undeniable Player. Ajanaku was a defensive force from the position of middle blocker, and earlier in the night won the Under Armour Skills Competition in the Hardest Hitter category for her positon.


The match will be broadcast in its entirety on December 26, 2011 on ESPNU at 7:00 PM est.

Best Passer - Taylor Morey, Muncie Burris High School, Muncie, Indiana

Best Server - Amy Neal, Lake Travis High School, Austin, Texas

Best Setter - Nicole Dalton, Chaparral High School, Parker, Colorado

Hardest Hitter for Outside Hitters - Macey Gardner, Gilbert High School, Gilbert, Arizona

Best Hitter for Middle Blockers - Inky Ajanaku, Bishop Kelley High School, Tulsa, Oklahoma

Team East Most Undeniable Player (MVP) - Jordan Burgess

Team West Most Undeniable Player (MVP) - Inky Ajanaku
