I. Roll Call Update/Roll Call Question - What is your favorite and least favorite part of recruiting

  • New Members - we still need Empire and NEAC conference representatives. The new roster is now updated on the AVCA website
  • Call Attendance: Andress, Wolinski, Sheehan, Bennett, Davis, Garza, Gisbrecths, Hess, Jespersen, Kelly, Kreider, Robinson, Swearingen, Vaccari, Winter, Yates, Zellers

II. AVCA Report - Kali Andress - 10/10 Campaign

Attend the 2012 AVCA Spring Conference! Pre-registration closes April 13, 2012.

Help us reach our goal of raising $1,010 by October 10 to help provide eight young coaches the opportunity to jump-start their career and professional development by attending the 2012 AVCA Annual Convention in Louisville, KY! 

Participate and Win! You can win a free 2012 AVCA Convention registration by donating today! A competition is taking place among each AVCA member category to see which group donates the highest total dollar amount. From that winning group, a donor will be randomly selected to win a complimentary registration to attend the 2012 Convention. Increase your chance of winning by donating and encouraging your colleagues to do the same!

  • Ways we can improve our team during the Spring season - focus on training leaders because most of us have just lost our captains, maybe read a book with your tam and discuss the qualities of a leader
  • How to improve ourselves as coaches during the Spring - assess your team and your previous season, staff calendar, recruiting process, strategy, and communication
  • Always be reading! Read twitter to get some great ideas for books to read
  • Email: redd@beloit.edu - Dawn wants to know how you handle captains: how do you pick them? How many? Are they needed? Etc.

  • Academy for Sport Leadership - can sign up online for brief leadership lessons

 

VII.  Division III Recruiting Update:  University Athlete, Recruiting Calendar for Division III, Scott Carter Recruiting Service

  • Sam spoke with Corey who is overseeing UA. If you use UA, they are trying to move forward with the NCAA to make it more affordable
  • Other avenues? Yes, on board with banding together to make this more affordable or looking elsewhere
  • Recruiting Calendar - for or against?
