•III.    AVCA Updates - Kate Schuermann, (jackson.silvanik@avca.org)

  • A. General updates: The AVCA has plans to move forward with VPI testing at the NAIA National Championships, more info on that will be provided later. Salary Survey results are completed and information can be requested from the AVCA.
  • B. AVCA Board updates - Kathy DeBoer: Expanded info on VPI testing. Addressed concerns about intensity/time commitment to the teams competing (Testing is not intensive, will tak 15-20 minutes). Benefit to the AVCA and NAIA as we continue to build a database that can give firm information about the skill sets and player characteristics across the volleyball community.

•IV.    NAIA Update - Jamie Adams, Manager of Championship Sports (JAdams@naia.org)

  • A. General updates - Jamie was unable to attend the call. Stew McDole provided several updates on her behalf regarding the NAIA meetings at convention, including the educational session on Thursday and the Business Roundtable on Thursday afternoon as a prelude to the General Business meeting.

•V.      Committee Updates:

  • A. Recognition Committee - Stew McDole: As we near the recognition portion of the season, please contact Stew to let him know who the Recognition Chair from each conference is. In response to questions, the nomination process happens through the regional- and all-conference nomination process...that info is fed along as National awards are given. Please contact Stew if you need the statistical guidelines emailed to you for any particular award. Stew will be calling each conference and collecting stats through Dakstats.
  • B. Competition Committee - Mike Gibson *Not on call
  • C. Membership - Kim Norman *Not on call. We were able to fill several of the openings on the HCC, please keep an eye out for potential members in the remaining conference positions.
  • D. Sand Volleyball - Chrissy Moskovits has joined as the Sand representative. There are now 4 programs offering Sand Volleyball, the NAIA may call it either Sand or Beach volleyball. See the AVCA website and the Sand subsection for information on adding a program.

•VI.    Other Constituency Updates:

  • A. Men's Programs - John Yehling: There are a few Men's teams that are in the process of being added. Culver-Stockton will begin competition this year, and three others are preparing to compete in the following season. Once there are 25 programs, the NAIA will consider hosting a championship. Men's VB is seeing growth in the NAIA, DIII and private sectors of DII.
  • B. Assistant Coaches - filled
  • C. Conferences - Any Committee Members

•VII.  Committee Chair General Report - Kim Norman, HCC Chair (knorman@westminstercollege.edu)
