No. 6 Nazareth Defeats No. 12 D'Youville

Nazareth junior Joe Petzoldt and senior Tom Maving recorded 12 kills and 11 kills respectively to lead Nazareth's sixth-ranked men's volleyball team to a three-game (30-26, 30-25, 30-25) victory over visiting 12th-ranked D'Youville.

With the victory, the Golden Flyers improve to 23-5 overall. D'Youville drops to 10-10 overall with the loss.

The Golden Flyers' primary setter, junior Frank Leahy, recorded 10 digs, four blocks, and a match-high 47 assists while junior Chris DeHority tallied a match-high 11 digs. Senior Kellen Gambeski finished with nine kills, and junior Kelvin Rolle contributed seven kills. Nazareth also received six kills a piece from junior Ryan Johnsen and freshman Hans Schroeder while senior Adam DiCicco finished with five kills.

The Spartans were led by Spencer McIntyre and Jeremy Sadjak who recorded 15 kills and 13 kills respectively. John Kofmehl tallied a total of 35 assists and recorded eight digs. Sadjak also contributed eight digs for the Spartans. Jim forster recorded a match-high five blocks while Alex Sikorski added six digs.

The Golden Flyers play their next match Thursday at Hilbert.
