AVCA Update:

Board Report Review:

Ø November December issue of Coaching Volleyball is the first issue of a new redesign. Please provide us with feedback on what you think.

Ø Board elections nearing. Please cast you vote for DII representative on or before November 13th.

Ø Convention registrations: 637 to date. This time last year 444

Ø Membership: New Members for October-305. Same time last year 273. AVCA asks that all member coaches try to contact non-member coaches in their conference and remind them of the benefits of joining including award opportunities.

Ø New AVCA commercials now on the web site at www.avca.org.

Minority Coaches Workshop:

Ø Very successful in D.C. ! Congrats to all that participated. Upcoming Texas clinic will not occur due to scheduling conflicts. Please encourage participation for the clinics being held in Omaha during the Annual Convention.

Questionaire's/Suveys:

Ø Please fill out the questionnaire sent on November 1, 2006. This was developed to gather critical information, which can be shared at Convention.

Ø AVCA Member Survey-Help the AVCA help you. Please fill out this online membership survey prior to November 10th.

Ø AVCA DII Budget survey results attached-Thank you for your help!

Awards Committee:

Ø Friday November 3rd-Monday November 6th-Athletes accepted for awards.

Ø Today, Wednesday November 1st marks the deadline for regional coach of the year, please nominate deserving coaches.

Ø See below for important dates and deadlines.

All Upcoming Deadlines (Please mark your calendars):

Ø November 1st: AVCA Regional Coach of the Year Nomination.

Ø November 3rd: NCAA rules survey extended deadline, begin accepting student athletes for awards.

Ø November 6th: ***AVCA Player All-Region nominations forms due***. Please note that nominations will close at 10:00p.m. Eastern on the 6th. Please refer to your timetable or contact Kelly.stumph@avca.org with questions.

Ø November 10th-AVCA Member Survey due, Tachikara/AVCA Victory Clubs forms due.

Ø November 13th-deadline to vote for your Division II representative.

Ø November 23rd-deadline to provide Kim with any feedback for Annual Convention meeting agenda.

Ø December 8th-Deadline to submit results to Kim for the questionnaire.

Ø December 14th-next meeting at Convention 9:00-10:30a.m.

Ø December 15th-Divisional/regional meetings (optional) 8:00-9:00a.m., General Division II meeting 9:00-10:30a.m.

Old Business:

Ø NCAA Rules survey has been extended to this Friday November 3rd. Please call Bren if you have any questions or would like to propose rules changes.
