Coleman digs team to upset victory

 

Oct. 28 - Megan Coleman, a senior libero for No. 20 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division III National Player of the Week. Coleman had a strong presence in a key week for the Athenas. She recorded no fewer than 21 digs in any of her three matches, including 24 in their upset victory over No. 2 Cal Lutheran. She went on to tally dig totals of 21 and 23 in sweeps over Pomona-Pitzer and Occidental, respectively. The libero also contributed on the offensive end, registering 10 assists and five aces. For the week, she averaged 6.18 digs per set.

 

This is the first time a Claremont-Mudd-Scripps student-athlete has garnered Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week honors. The Athenas are coached by Kurt Vlasich.
