Florida in December means a golf tournament at the AVCA Convention! A short, scenic drive down Bayshore Boulevard from downtown Tampa is the beautiful Bay Palms Golf Course, located at MacDill Air Force Base. Situated scenically along the edge of the water, this 18-hole, 72-par course has garnered the nickname "Paradise by the Bay."

Get in your "Sunshine State of Mind" and join your coaching peers for a fun day in the sun. The AVCA Golf Tournament will be held on Wednesday, December 16.  The schedule for the day is as follows:

The tournament fee includes green fees, cart, access to warm-up range, transportation to/from golf course and a buffet lunch. Prizes will be awarded for the winning teams, longest drive and closest to the pin. Each player will also receive a gift bag. A limited number of club rentals are available for $15 at the golf course. Mulligans can be purchased at the golf course for $10 each (limit 2 per player) with all proceeds going to charity.

Golfers will have two tournament format options to choose from when competing for prizes. There will be one tournament for groups of four who would like to play together and one tournament for individuals or groups of less than four. The AVCA will put teams together for individuals and small groups. Additional details will be sent to those who register for the tournament.

Bay Palms is located on a military base and is not open to the public. The AVCA is required to submit a list of all participants to the golf course prior to the tournament and everyone who registers must show a photo ID upon entering the military base. No one will be admitted to the golf course without showing a photo ID. Due to this policy the registration deadline for the golf tournament is December 2.
