Jones dominates the middle for Wildcats

Oct. 28 - Natali Jones, a senior middle blocker for No. 22 Kansas State University, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week. It's been a strong 2014 campaign for the Wildcats led by Jones in the middle. The week started off against now-No. 25 Oklahoma in Kansas, where she smacked 12 kills on .688 hitting with five digs and seven blocks. The Sooners went on to sweep then-No. 2 Texas this past weekend. Up next, KSU hit the road to West Virginia, and the senior once again proved she's one of the best in the Big 12. In the five-set win, Jones nailed another 12 kills on .667 hitting, this time adding five blocks and leading the conference in that category. For the week, she averaged exactly three kills, 1.50 blocks and 0.75 digs per set while hitting .676.

This is the fifth time a student-athlete from Kansas State has garnered Sports Imports/AVCA Player of the Week honors, with the most recent coming from Kaitlynn Pelger on September 18, 2012. The Wildcats are coached by Suzie Fritz.
