Similar Events
Material Benefits For High School, Preparatory
School and Two-Year College Coaches
Please note that providing material benefits (i.e. free or reduced memberships,
door prizes, school specific gear) for high school, preparatory school and
two-year college coaches in conjunction with camps or other events may or may
not be permissible. Bylaw 13.9.2.1 addresses this kind of activity and in the
past, has been challenged by administrators and coaches.
Be advised that the American Volleyball Coaches Association will not make a
determination if this activity is permissible or not but rather, would strongly
encourage you to contact your campus compliance director if you are considering
offering this kind of benefit to your coaches in attendance at camps or other
events. Because of the varying circumstances and differing situations, your
campus compliance director is in a better position to make this decision and
apply the legislation appropriately to the setting on your individual campuses.
Please contact your campus compliance director for direction and an
interpretation regarding this kind of activity.
