2014 Coaches 4 Coaches Fundraiser:
Help send coaches to their first ever AVCA Convention this December in Oklahoma City.
Beginning this fall, the AVCA will begin its 2014 Coaches 4 Coaches Fundraiser campaign. The money raised will help coaches attend their first ever AVCA Convention in Oklahmoa City this December. Last year, the Coaches 4 Coaches Fundraiser was an immense success as together, we raised over $6,000 for the Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarship.
This year, the AVCA has already received a matching gift, so any donation to Coaches 4 Coaches will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $4,000. The AVCA is a 501(c)3 nonprofit association and all donations made to the Coaches4Coaches scholarship are tax deductible.
Want to help send one of your peers to the convention for the first time? The first $300 raised by each AVCA constituency (e.g. NCAA Division I, High School Club, etc.) will be dedicated towards a scholarship to fund a coach from that respective group.
Give a Gift, Get a Gift
Former Team USA Head Coach and current Minnesota Head Coach, Hugh McCutcheon, and current Florida Head Coach, Mary Wise, have agreed to a meet and greet at the AVCA Convention with coaches that donate at least $100. Both of these legendary coaches will have a table at the Convention Kick-Off Party on Wednesday, December 17. They will share their wealth of knowledge and stories from their time as coaches. This is also a perfect opportunity to meet and speak with the 2014 Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarship recipients as they will serve as the waiters for this event. Space is limited to only seven seats per table.
Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarship:
The Coaches 4 Coaches Scholarship provides volleyball coaches the opportunity to attend their first AVCA Convention and explore the countless networking and educational opportunities that are made available to them. This is a unique experience and one in which the recipients will develop professional skills as well as learn about becoming a better coach and leader.
Over the life of the scholarship program, 44 winners have benefited from over $26,000 in donations. Most are now college assistant coaches or in leadership roles in their high school association or club.
Eligible applicants must be active AVCA members who are attending their first AVCA Convention. Applications for the scholarship are to be sent to the AVCA office and a selection committee will choose the recipients based upon academics, contributions to the sport of volleyball on and off the court, a professional letter of recommendation, and a personal written submission outlining their desire to attend the AVCA Annual Convention and their aspirations in coaching.
Completed pplications can be submitted y email to email@example.com, faxed to 859-226-4338 or mailed directly to:
