Public Market Tours

Public Market SeattleJoin us for a 1-hour historical tour of Pike Place Market filled with intriguing tales! At 105 years old, Pike Place Market is the oldest continuously operating marketing in the United States. The original Starbucks and Sur La Table stores can be found here, as well as the world famous fish throwing Pike Place Fish boys. It is also home to more than 200 year-round commercial businesses; 190 craftspeople; and approximately 100 farmers who rent table space by the day; 240 street performers and musicians; and more than 300 apartment units, most of which provide housing for low-income elderly people.

The Seattle CVB is one of the sponsors for the "Holidays in Seattle," a program that keeps the public updated on local holiday happenings/traditions/festivities. Information can be found on the Seattle CVB Facebook page, Web site and mobile application. These will all be updated leading up to the holiday season as plans are finalized. The following are a few examples of activities that were highlighted in 2012: 

  • Westlake Center‘s holiday carousel and Christmas tree light show
  • Seattle Center's Winterfest and Winter Train Village
  • Argosy's Christmas Ship Festival on Lake Union
  • Seattle's biggest stages are also decked out as the best entertainers dazzle crowds with holiday classics as well as new performances.


Seattle Childcare

Annie's Nannies is a Seattle company that provides on-call hotel childcare service for out-of-town guests. This company will send a nanny to your hotel room as needed to provide childcare. The fee is $30 per hour for one child with a four hour minimum ($1 more per hour per child for additional children). The hourly rate includes the agency fee and nanny's pay. The company employs the nannies for hotel guests and collects the fee via credit card.  The cancellation fee is $40.
