The NCAA Division I Committee for Legislative Relief issued three blanket waivers impacting the sports of volleyball, field hockey, and men’s soccer for 2025 fall season. Specifically, the blanket waivers, issued Jan. 22, permit the following for women’s volleyball: “Division I women’s volleyball teams may begin preseason practice 22 calendar days before the first scheduled regular season contest for the 2025 fall season. For the 2025-26 academic year, an institution may commence practice sessions beginning August 7, 2025″(see full release for additional notes).

The National Student Clearinghouse Research Center has published the Current Term Enrollment Estimates for the fall 2024 semester, which found that postsecondary enrollment rebounded above pre-2020 levels. Overall freshmen enrollment increased by 5.5%.
Senior athletes will be added to AVCA Boys High School All-America Watch List. Non-senior high school athletes will be featured on the AVCA High Risers List. Please nominate all of your deserving athletes to ensure they are recognized and we bring more attention to the sport!

Fan Voting Underway For PVF All-Star RostersFans will have the chance to select two players per position. Every player on every team’s roster is eligible and the top voters will earn automatic inclusion on the 2025 PVF All-Star rosters. The inaugural Pro Volleyball Federation All-Star Match is scheduled for Saturday, February 22 at Fishers Event Center and will air on CBS.
Reminder that if your membership is not renewed before the expiration date, your account will enter EXPIRED status. This includes limited access to the AVCA website and services for up to one year. Note – Expired members may NOT nominate for AVCA awards! If you still haven’t renewed after a year in expired status, you will not receive any AVCA member benefits until you rejoin.

Romana Redondo Krišková named Head Volleyball Coach at Idaho, removing the interim tag that she carried for the 2024 season.
The University of New Hampshire and women’s volleyball head coach Christopher Feliciano, have agreed to a three-year contract extension
Feliciano will enter his seventh season as head coach in 2025.
NCAA Division II
Arkansas Tech University has announced the hiring of Hannah Wuest as the head coach of the Golden Suns volleyball program.
Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) has hired Avery Moore as head women’s volleyball coach.
Jeff Reynolds has been named the Flagler College head volleyball coach.
Young Harris College announced the hiring of James Rogers as Head Volleyball Coach.
Suzana Andrade has been named head coach of the Catawba College Beach Volleyball program.
NCAA Division III
Natalia Burdulis has been named the head coach at University of the Ozarks. The program will compete in its inaugural season of volleyball in the upcoming 2025 fall semester.
