We’re still adding to the participant count, but so far we’re up to 120 participants in 38 states that took part in a record-setting 2025 AVCA Spring #OFFICIATIONWEEK! This year’s participation tops the previous spring-time record of 98 participants in 34 states set in 2024. Thank you to all who participated – elementary, middle & high school boys; NCAA DI-II-III and NAIA men’s; collegiate women; coaches associations; club including USA Volleyball and the JVA; beach; Rally Volleyball; the Pro Volleyball Federation; and Indy Ignite Pro Volleyball.
The Alabama High School Coaches Association (AHSVCA) Hall of Fame Class of 2025 Nominations will open April 1-15. Alabama high school volleyball coaches and contributors (i.e. trainers, administrators, officials, sportswriters, junior high coaches, association contributors, etc.) can be nominated.

High school coaches have been posting letters to the KSHSAA in to support to KSHSAA the establishment of a Kansas Boys Volleyball State Championship.
Boys’ volleyball participation has surged, with more schools forming teams and dedicated student-athletes. However, the lack of a state championship limits their competitive opportunities. Neighboring states like Missouri have proven the sport’s success with established championships. Coaches say a state-sanctioned championship would boost college recruitment, school spirit, and provide a structured competitive environment. Read more.
Kentucky (KVCA)
The Collins High School (Shelbyville, KY) boys volleyball team etched its name into program history by earning its first-ever win as a Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA)-sanctioned sport. “The competition has grown tremendously!” Head Coach Cooper Jacobelli said. “Especially with the amount of high schools adopting the sport, it has been amazing seeing the sport grow in Kentucky.”
The Nebraska Great Plains Region hosted their first Boys Volleyball Showcase at the CHI Health Center (Omaha, NE) on Friday, March 28. College games were played from 4-9pm, and high school games from 6-9pm. High schools included Omaha Titan, Omaha Ligers, Lincoln Elite, Omaha Grasshoppers, Omaha Knights, and Lincoln Mambas.
Save with early registration until April 20, for the 11th Annual New York Volleyball Coaches Association (NYVCA) Coaches Clinic on May 16-17, at Lake George High School (NY) featuring top coach presenters as LJ Marx, Erin Glickert, Karl Caputo; and nutrition and fitness professionals as Theresa Delorenzo and Mike Sirani.

AVCA Thirty Under 30 Award nominations are currently being accepted in the below categories. Eligible nominees must be 30 years old or younger as of December 31, 2024; active AVCA members; and currently coaching volleyball.
Thirty Under 30 College – Collegiate coaches from any division: Women/Men, Indoor/Beach. All coaching roles (Head, Assistant, etc.)
The 2025 AVCA Boys Watch Lists have been announced! The AVCA Boys All-America Watch List features 484 high school senior athletes. The list serves as the starting point for the Boys’ High School Senior All-America selection process. The 2025 AVCA High Risers List features 361 non-senior high school male athletes who have showcased themselves as an up-and-coming top athlete in the sport.
Single session tickets will be offered on April 18 if any inventory remains.
The season-opening women’s volleyball showcase will take place at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Aug. 22–24, and at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, on Aug. 25. Reminder that if your membership is not renewed before the expiration date, your account will enter EXPIRED status. This includes limited access to the AVCA website and services for up to one year. Note – Expired members may NOT nominate for AVCA awards! If you still haven’t renewed after a year in expired status, you will not receive any AVCA member benefits until you rejoin.
USA Volleyball is proud to announce the full list of 30 distinguished individuals who will be honored at the 2025 USA Volleyball Hall of Fame annual banquet on May 21. The celebration will recognize both Hall of Fame inductees and annual award winners, highlighting their outstanding contributions to the sport. The ceremony takes place just two days before the start of the 2025 USA Volleyball Open National Championship.
Congratulations to athletes named to the 2025 JVA Boys Watch List and 2025 JVA Girls Watch List. Nearly 1,300 male indoor junior volleyball athletes from across the country made this year’s exclusive list. The players nominated are among the best in the nation in the 15U-18U age divisions this season.
Over 5,100 female indoor junior volleyball athletes from across the country were also named to the 2025 JVA Girls Watch List earlier this month.
