Newberry College (DII) Adds Men’s Volleyball
Newberry College announced that the school will sponsor men’s varsity intercollegiate volleyball next year. The Wolves are expected to play their first varsity game in early January of 2026.
First Point National High School Invitational Recap
First Point seized the opportunity to celebrate high school boys’ volleyball growing in the United States with the hosting of the inaugural First Point National High School Invitational. The event was held in Austin, Texas last weekend and featured 16 teams from across the country. The event concluded with a training session with USA Head Coach Karch Kiraly and Assistant Coach Luka Slabe.
DuPage (IL) won the 2025 NJCAA Men’s Volleyball Invitational Championship. It is the first invitational win for DuPage. The Chaps edged out the #3 seed Nassau in the final.

On Monday, a near seven-hour court proceeding marked the final hearing in the NCAA’s House settlement agreement. Judge Wilken indicated that she would approve the settlement if changes are made: provide a phase-in period for implementing new roster limits or “grandfather in” current athletes on rosters; and adjust language related to binding future athletes to the 10-year settlement
The NCAA National Collegiate Men’s Volleyball Championship comes to Columbus May 8-12, 2025. The Covelli Center at Ohio State is home to all the action from quarterfinals to the final.
The eight teams that qualify for the 2025 NCAA Championships will open competition in the quarterfinal round May 8. Games are scheduled for 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
The semifinals will be played May 10 at 5 and 8 p.m. The 2025 NCAA Tournament Championship match is scheduled for 7 p.m. May 12 (ESPN2).
The quarterfinal and semifinal matches will be streamed by ESPN+.
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has extended its agreement with Cedar Rapids Tourism and Mount Mercy University (Iowa), naming them hosts of the NAIA Men’s Volleyball National Championship through 2026.
USAV Announced Age-Group National Team Competitions and Staff
USA Volleyball is announced the dates, locations and coaching staff for its 2025 indoor age-group national teams, which will compete in top international events, including the NORCECA Continental Championship, Pan American Cup, and FIVB World Championship.

Marist Proves Quality at Karch Kiraly Tournament of Champions
Marist’s boys volleyball team was ranked No. 2 in the country in the April 3 USA Today/American Volleyball Coaches Association poll heading into its California trip. Over the course of the trip, Marist took down Huntington Beach and split matches with #1 Mira Costa.
NC and NAIA AVCA Award Nominations Open on Tuesday
Nominations for All-America for both Men’s National Collegiate and NAIA will open on Tuesday, April 15. The deadline for NAIA nominations is Monday, April 21 and National Collegiate nominations is Tuesday, April 22.
